Help Your Child Find Their "Element"

posted Jan 3, 2011 12:23 AM by Read Aloud Denver
Sir Ken Robinson, one of the world's leading thinkers on creativity and innovation, has written a book called "The Element -- How Finding Your Passion Changes Everything".  This book can help you help your child find their passion early in life. Sir Ken describes the sequence this way:
1) I get it: having a natural aptitude for something
2) I love it: combining natural aptitude with passion
3) I want it: one's attitude in life
4) Where is it?: the opportunities that we take

Reading different books to your child is a way to expose them to different people, places and experiences that can inspire them, fuel their imagination and help them find their passion. Jennifer Fosberry's "My Name Is Not Isabella" is a wonderful book that about a little girl "with a huge imagination who imagines herself as other women. Important women. Women that make a difference."
